Mommy Makeover Surgery
A Unique Combination of Cosmetic Procedures Designed to Help Women to Regain Their
Figures After Childbirth
Childbirth and nursing an infant can really take its toll on a woman's figure. Ladies take in their stride
all of the morning sickness, strange cravings, weight gain and all the other indignities that nature throws at them
during pregnancy. But after childbirth, many women can't help but feel a little nostalgic about the figure they
used to have.
Mommy Makeover Surgery is a bespoke combination of cosmetic surgery procedures designed just for
you.
Since it is a combination of procedures, there will be a reduction in the cost of a Mommy makeover, compared to
if you were to get all the different procedures separately, but the Mommy Makeover still does not come cheap, and
depending on your personal requirements may cost as much as $50,000. However, many women feel that you can't really
put a price on beauty, and the self-confidence that it brings. Moreover, many women have found a way of reducing
the price, by traveling abroad for their surgery.
Getting a Mommy Makeover overseas can cost significantly less, and prices in countries such as Mexico, Brazil,
Argentina, India or Thailand the prices can be as much as 90% cheaper. Eastern Europe is far cheaper as well, with
Poland and the Czech Republic both able to offer very attractive savings, without sacrificing on the quality of
surgery and care that you would expect at home.

If you have had children, you probably don't need us to explain the physical effects that pregnancy, childbirth
and breastfeeding have on your body.
First, weight is put on as your body stores fatty tissue in the stomach, hips, thighs and breasts. The abdomen
stretches to accommodate your child, creating stretchmarks, due to the breakdown in the skin's collagen., and
finally, after childbirth, the effects are made more pronounced as weight starts to be lost again (hopefully!). As
you will also know, difficult as it can be to lose weight, it is even more difficult to control where that weight
is lost from.
So, many mothers find that weight is lost from those areas such as the breasts and buttocks that perhaps they
were quite happy with, but not from the areas that they would have liked to have lost weight.
Breastfeeding, too, often results in a loss of breast volume.
As each woman's body responds differently to pregnancy and childbirth, no two Mommy Makeovers need to be the
same. Generally, however, Mommy Makeover surgery will consist of a combination of some, or all, of the following
procedures:
Breast Enhancement (Breast Implants) -
After breastfeeding and weight loss after pregnancy, a loss of volume to the breasts is not unusual, and many women
like to increase the size of their breasts to how the were before pregnancy.
Breast Lift Surgery - While you may be
perfectly happy with the actual size of your breasts, you may, like many women, find that your breasts are not as
pert as they were.
Buttock Lift Surgery - Like the
breast, the buttocks often have a tendency to sag after pregnancy and childbirth.
Liposuction - Of cause, while weight is easily
lost in those areas that you didn't want to lose it, some areas of the body, such as the hips, thighs and stomach,
seem stubbornly resistant to all attempts to lose weight.
Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck Surgery) - The
abdominal area obviously takes the bulk of the punishment from pregnancy, so it is unsurprising that most women
getting a Mommy Makeover require a tummy tuck, to tighten up the area and remove a little excess fat and skin.
Breast Reduction - Instead of Breast
Enlargement, a lot of women opt for breast reduction surgery.
You will discuss with your cosmetic surgeon which of the procedures are appropriate for your needs, selecting a
plastic surgery package that is right for you.
If you have had a baby, and are now feeling unhappy or self-conscious about your physical appearance, then there
may be benefits for you getting a Mommy Makeover. Nonetheless, there are a few considerations that you should take
into account, before going ahead with surgery.
Firstly, are you planning more children. If you are, it will be wiser to wait until you have the size of family
you want, and then, by all means, get your Mommy Makeover.
You should also consider whether you have realistically lost all of the weight you are going to, before getting
your makeover. Further weight loss will result in more loss of volume, and increase the amount of loose skin that
you may have about your body. This will effectively undo the work that your cosmetic surgeon has performed. So lose
as much of that weight as you can, first!
You must also have finished breastfeeding. As well as breastfeeding often leading to loss of breast volume, more
critically, breastfeeding will also increase your chance of complications during and after surgery. Infections
become more likely, as does excessive bleeding.
Generally, about six months after childbirth is agreed to be an optimum time to be considering Mommy Makeover
surgery.
Many clinics all around the world perform Mommy Makeover surgery, and it is certainly the most popular cosmetic
surgery package, or combination of cosmetic procedures. Since it is fairly easy to find a clinic that will perform
a Mommy Makeover, your priority should be to find the best clinic within your budget. While not all surgeons will
be accredited, it is, needless to say, very important that you make sure your surgeon is!
Do not consider using a clinic just because it is cheaper than others you have looked at, as there are likely to
be very good reasons why it is so much more affordable.
Any city or country will have a normal market rate for a given procedure, and you should not stray too far below
this, in a quest to save money.
Crucially, because of the extent of surgery performed during a Mommy Makeover, you should make sure that the
clinic has more facilities than average, and has the infrastructure in place should something go wrong. As with
Total Body Lift Surgery, this is not the kind of surgery that should
be performed in a plastic surgeon's office, but requires a proper clinical facility.
All surgical procedures carry risks, and you can learn more about them here.
However, what the Mommy Makeover patient need to be particularly aware of is that getting a combination of
procedures at the same time does significantly increase the chance of complications. For this reason, it is more
important than ever to make sure that your clinic is reputable, and that your surgeon is accredited, skilled and
experienced at the procedures you are getting.
Doing proper research about your clinic and surgeon can be done easily online, and there is really no excuse for
being uninformed about both the procedure(s) you are getting and the reputation of the clinic where the surgery
will take place!
Because the Mommy Makeover will combine several different types of cosmetic surgery, your recovery period can be
expected to take longer than if you were to get the procedures separately.
Most of the swelling and pain will have subsided after a few weeks. However, six to eight weeks is a reasonable
time to avoid vigorous activities.
For the first couple of weeks, you will probably need to take pain-killers, and the use of support garments will
be recommended, to assist with recovery. For the initial day or so after surgery, you will benefit from having
someone around who can help you with the basic necessities, that are likely to be difficult and painful for you at
first.
Your Mommy Makeover surgeon will advise you to seek medical assistance if there are any sudden increases in pain
or swelling, or if you notice bleeding. You should take seriously any unusual changes.
Giving up smoking is one of the most helpful things you can do for yourself, and to do so at least two weeks
before surgery and during the recovery will improve your speed at regaining your health.
A complete recovery, and the full extent of the results, will usually be within three months.
There are several different aspects of your treatment that will have a bearing on the cost of your Mommy
Makeover.
Most obviously, the combination of procedures will form a basis for the price, along with the surgeon's fee, but
there are other aspects of surgery that people often overlook when getting surgery price quotes.
Don't forget that anesthesia is expensive as well, and will form a part of your bill. Likewise, the operating
room will be billable to you. When you are getting and comparing price quotes, make a point of asking what is, and
what isn't, included in the price for Mommy Makeover surgery.
