Most of the clinics that specialise in plastic surgery will employ Professionally Accredited Specialists in the field, so you shouldn't have to worry too much. For your own peace of mind, though, it is important for you to feel comfortable with your choice, as this will make the experience feel much more smooth for you.

This is particularly true when arranging cosmetic surgery abroad.  With this in mind, when choosing your clinic and surgeon, do make sure that the clinic is able to provide you with information about the professional qualifications of your consultant, and do pay attention for any warning signs, such as:

• Does the surgeon, and his or her staff, seem unable to show due respect to you? 
• Are you feeling hurried? 
• Does your cosmetic surgeon accept your right to a second opinion? 
• Do you feel that your surgeon is not making sufficient effort to be easily understood for you? Is he or she talking in medical jargon?  

• Has you surgeon made sure that you understand what aftercare, including recovery, you will need, how long this should last and the expected outcome?
